For 17 years, Dignity Health and Project C.U.R.E. have partnered to help fight medical crises worldwide. This year alone, Dignity Health donated $450,000 to send medical supplies to fight Ebola in Sierra Leone, and partnered with MedShare and Project C.U.R.E. to support earthquake disaster-relief efforts in Nepal.
Project C.U.R.E.’s recent efforts in Phoenix helped collect and load much-needed medical and surgical supplies for the Nepal Orthopedic Hospital in Kathmandu, which is providing care to survivors free of charge. Dignity Health employees donated the shipping cost for the cross-continental delivery, as well as the volunteer hours to load the supplies for those in need.
“Our volunteers have a love of people and communities—places they’ve never been to, people they’ve never met,” says Katie Mabardy, Executive Director of Project C.U.R.E. “I call them the best of humanity.”
